Recreational Gymnastics Classes
At SXL Gymnastics, our recreational gymnastics program is the perfect way for children to build strength, coordination, flexibility, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Our program caters to children aged 3.5 to 14 years and is designed for all ability levels—no prior experience required!
We focus on fundamental gymnastics skills through engaging, structured classes that lay the foundation for all sports. Children develop body awareness, balance, motor skills, discipline, and perseverance while enjoying movement-based learning and social interaction.
Each class is led by qualified coaches, many of whom are current or former national and international-level athletes. Their wealth of experience ensures children receive quality instruction and support tailored to their individual progress.
Students are assessed twice each term and grouped according to age and ability to ensure every child learns at a pace that suits them. Top-performing students in each class are placed on a supervisor watch list and may be invited to move to a more advanced group when ready.

Age-Based Class Structure
At SXL, we group children by age to ensure they learn in a safe, supportive, and age-appropriate environment. All classes follow a structured, beginner-friendly curriculum tailored to each age group’s physical and developmental needs.
- Kindy Gym (3.5–5 years): A fun and active introduction to gymnastics, focusing on gross motor skills, balance, and confidence through imaginative play and basic movement.
Pink Class (4.5–6.5 years): Builds on early skills with more structured gymnastics activities. Children are introduced to different apparatus & floor skills while developing strength, coordination, and listening skills.
Maroon Class (6.5–8.5 years): A beginner-level class for primary-aged children, offering a structured introduction to fundamental gymnastics skills. Children focus on body control, technique, and physical development in a fun and encouraging environment.
Navy Class (8.5 years+): A beginner-level class designed for older children who are ready to build foundational gymnastics skills in a more focused setting. This class supports individual progress and development through structured, age-appropriate training.
Trial Classes & Enrolment
At SXL, we offer a one-off paid trial class (subject to availability) for families who would like their child to experience a session before committing to the full term. Trial classes are charged at the standard class rate (see pricing below) and give children a chance to meet our coaches, join in the fun, and get a feel for our program.
To book a trial, please complete the enrolment form below or call our office to check class availability. As most classes are often full, we recommend booking early to avoid missing out.
If your child enjoys the trial and you wish to continue, they can be enrolled for the remainder of the term, in line with the NSW public school calendar.
Already know SXL is the right fit? You’re welcome to enrol straight into a class without doing a trial. Just complete the enrolment form and we’ll be in touch to confirm your spot.
Please note:
Enrolments are for a full term. We do not offer casual or drop-in classes.
A $100 annual membership fee applies per child, covering insurance for the calendar year.
Students are required to wear the club uniform:
Girls – Club leotard and shorts: $55
Boys – Club shirt and shorts: $45
